In the world of rapidly growing L2 ETH chain availability, sometimes a rebrand can be the answer to increase blockchain volume. Other times it can just be super fucking confusing and makes this reporter say “but why?!!”.

In a poll conducted by the team at Shrimpy’s, we found out that most traders, hodlers and casual crypto buyers don’t really care what this particular L2 is named and are somewhat perplexed. “Is that the purple thingy with like the spider legs?”. Indeed!

Our guess at Shrimpy’s is that this may just be the first in a wave of L2 rebrands as the crypto community moves on to something newer and shinier.
